Glossary: International Teaching Terms

The Victorian Certificate of Education or VCE is the credential awarded to secondary school students who successfully complete high school level studies (Year 11 and 12 or equivalent) in the state of Victoria, Australia. Study for the VCE is usually completed over two years, but it can be spread over a longer period in some cases.

Showing how much a specific digit is worth or it's value.  For example, in the number 357, The digit 3 has a higher value than the other numbers.  Even though the 7 is higher than the 3, the 3 still has a higher value.  It is worth 300, whereas the 5 has a value of 50.
