The Faculty of Health and Medicine focuses on promoting wellbeing and building strong scientific foundations. This course is aimed at supporting carers who are looking after a member of their own family who has been diagnosed with dementia. It uses the Show one section per page layout to minimise scrolling through the large amount of content.

A range of topics are covered including materials including: what is dementia and changes in relationships, communications and behaviour changes, personal care in a safe environment and very importantly caring for the carer

This foundation coursevcovers fundamental principles that govern the characteristics of living organisms. To explain these principles, presented topics will include: The study of life, Chemical foundations of life, Biological molecules, Cell Structure, Structure and function of plasma membranes, Metabolism, Cellular Respiration, Photosynthesis, Cell reproduction, Meiosis and sexual reproduction, Mendel’s Experiments and heredity, Modern understandings of inheritance, DNA structure and function, genes and protein, and Ethics and societal responsibility.

This course, using the Show one section per page layout, is designed to teach medical terminology, the language of medicine, in an engaging and meaningful way. Learning medical terminology will allow the learner to more easily understand the language of medicine and utilize this knowledge throughout their academic and medical-based career. While learning medical terms in this course, the learner will also learn basic anatomy and physiology, as well as basic diseases and professions dealing with each body system.
